bioPmed

bioPmed is the new Italian innovation cluster dedicated to bio and medical technologies created thanks to the intervention of Regione Piemonte. It gathers around 60 companies, research centres and three academic institutions (Università di Torino, Università del Piemonte Orientale and the Politecnico di Torino), who signed an agreement to create, build, support and animate the local cluster.

The initiative is led by Bioindustry Park Silvano Fumero, the local science & technology park founded in 1998 which, since its creation worked as system integrator for the development of life sciences in the region. In coherence with the European Union recommendations, bioPmed works to stimulate innovative activity by promoting intensive interactions, sharing of facilities and exchange of knowledge and expertise and by contributing effectively to technology transfer, networking and information dissemination among the undertakings in the cluster.

The Biotech Infoday
This takes place on the 13th for the whole day. It is where the European Commission presents the content of the call and provides details about how each aspect of biotech is being seen within the call. Furthermore there is built-in networking for agriculture, food and industrial biotech and brokerage opportunities. This event is free and more details are attached. Conference on 14 September 2010

The KBBE towards 2020 conference will provide a unique opportunity to discuss the progress made since 2005 (the first KBBE conference) and to look beyond "towards 2020", contributing to the new vision and action plan for a Sustainable Bio-Economy.

This conference offers a platform to reflect on the global societal challenges and socio-economic drivers for the European bio-economy, to assess and discuss the present achievements and the needs for research and innovation policy and sustainability issues concerning feedstocks, innovative biobased products and innovative food production, and to develop views and policies on the way forward.
